What color shoes can i wear with a brown dress??

My graduation is coming up but so is my prom..I'm only buying one pair of shoes for both occasions. My graduation dress is brown and my prom dress is burgundy...what color shoes should I buy?? I need help I'm not really good with coordinating colors. HELP!!
